Laser cutting is a technology that uses a laser to cut materials by directing the output of a high power laser by computer, at the material to be cut. The material then either melts, burns, vaporizes away or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high quality surface finish. Parts with multiple radius' and irregular shapes are excellent illustrations to prove the cost effectiveness and efficiency of laser cutting. By using laser cutting, you are able to eliminate costly tooling charges and have a quicker turnaround. Laser parts generally remain flat and burr free, again saving time and money.
Diamond Metal Products, Inc., a Minnesota corporation, our Engineering Department can accept many different program files and has the ability to transfer these files into our laser program. Our Strippit LVD lasers are backed by a 2,000 and a 4,000 Watt resonators. The cutting tolerances are as close as +/- .003 and repeatability as close as +/- .001. The heat distortion is minimal and typically limited to 10% of material thickness. Laser cutting can produce 2D shapes. Stainless steel, steel, aluminum and spring steel are highly suitable for laser cutting. We are also capable of running "Lights Out".
Thank you for your interest in Diamond Metal Products, Inc. Please feel free to contact us by your preference of telephone and/or email. We will be happy to respond to your request a quote regarding laser cutting requirements or just to answer any questions you may have.
